Mom showed
us these
pictures of
her old
NEIGHBORS.
The first
deer is
 MAMA 1...
the other one
is her sister,
MAMA 2.
They were born
as TWINS.
For the last
couple of years
they BOTH
had TWINS
themselves
in a PROTECTED
 area
Mom left alone
JUST
for THEM.
This was POSEY
the white possum.
She rummaged
the composted
veggie area
ALL
 the time.
Her babies
used to
RIDE
on her
BACK but
they got
TOO big.
These last 2
pictures are
really
FUZZY-WUZZY
 but
Mom keeps them
cuz that's
her friend-
 Ry racoon.
Ry fed
her babies
by SHAKING
 the bird
 feederS and
her babes
would eat
seed as it
 POURED
down on
their HEADS.
In winter
she'd
bring her
 babes on
 the deck
 for the
HEATED
 WATER BOWL.
Sometimes she'd
stand up against the
patio door
glass if she saw
Mom's last kitty
watching them
from inside
and she'd
HISS and
HIT the
GLASS.
(SHUDDER)
We're glad
Mom had
such good
COUNTRY
FRIENDS,
except for
the snakes.
Cod, we're glad
there aren't any
pictures of them...
We're going to
SNUGGLE
 on her
now so she's
not LONELY
for them.
Maybe she'll
show us
MORE PICS
and tell more stories.
That would be
PURRRfect!

Wow! What neat photos. It makes me miss the mountains again. :)
ReplyDeleteWe might have to take a quick little trip up the canyon to see some critters before the snow flies.
Take care you purrrrfect critters. :)

Oh, this is really special. Deer live in our forests too. But that another beast is unknown to me. You write in a nice way. I enjoy it.

WOW! I had no idea that everyday people had to be worried about getting shot by hunters! Ugh
ReplyDeleteCool pictures!
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a menagerie shown by those pictures! I'd be thankful for the glass door between me and that hissing raccoon. I've heard a possum hiss before, but never a raccoon. They are our state's official animal!
ReplyDeleteLOL-Hey! Makes ya miss the farm, doesn't it? You will get better at the fuzzy pictures with time- hang in there. Sometimes it takes a dozen photos to get one good one. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteReally nice pics. How special to be able to see wildlife like this!
